English language requirements for not-for-degree study abroad and exchange students

You may use one of the following tertiary degree studies, accepted qualifications or accepted tests to satisfy our English language requirements.

The following studies must have been taught in English outside of Australia:

  1. Successful completion of at least one semester full-time or equivalent of an undergraduate or post graduate coursework degree level study at a recognised University* in New Zealand, Republic of Ireland or United Kingdom or;
  2. Successful completion of at least one year full-time or equivalent of an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree level study at a recognised University* in Canada, Singapore, South Africa or United Stated of America or;
  3. Successful completion of at least one year full-time or equivalent of an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree level study at a recognised institution where the course studied is taught entirely in English.

For point 3 above you must supply a letter issued from a recognised institution confirming that you have completed at least one year full-time or equivalent of a bachelor degree certifying that the medium of instruction of the course is English.

The letter must be an official document from the institution on the institution letterhead.

*A recognised University is defined by the World Higher Education Database (WHED)
