This stream is designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of accounting, including the knowledge and standards required for accreditation by CPA Australia, ACCA (Global) and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ). Upon completion of this stream, you will be eligible to become a provisional member of each of these professional bodies.

This stream is part of the Master of Commerce (Professional Accounting).

Professional recognition

On successful completion of the course, you may be eligible for associate membership of CPA Australia, and entry into the Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) graduate program.

Admission criteria

What you need in order to get into this course. There are different pathway options depending on your level of work and education experience.

A bachelor degree (or equivalent) in a discipline other than accounting, or a Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting, or a Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting from a recognised tertiary institution. Applicants must also meet Curtin's English language proficiency requirements.

Note: if you have a recognised CPA accredited bachelor degree, majoring in accounting, you should consider the Master of Accounting (CPA Australia Extension Studies) instead.
