Outline

This course is designed for those who wish to convert into a different engineering discipline, or from an undergraduate science or technology degree. It provides foundational knowledge, skills and professional competencies for an engineer in your chosen discipline.

You can choose one of the following specialisations:

On completion you will qualify to enter the Master of Professional Engineering where you will meet the Stage 1 academic requirements for chartered status as a professional engineer.

What you'll learn

  • apply technical and theoretical knowledge and skills to identify and evaluate innovative solutions to complex engineering problems
  • recognise the importance of culture, including that of local First Peoples, and be able to work respectfully and productively across cultures
  • analyse contemporary industry needs generate creative and innovative engineering solutions
  • apply engineering skills and knowledge, sustainability frameworks, and ethical approaches to address issues of international relevance
  • use technology to facilitate problem solving and communicate effective and innovative solutions in an engineering context
  • recognise the role of a professional engineer in society and work ethically and morally to develop a professional profile as an engineer

Admission criteria

What you need in order to get into this course. There are different pathway options depending on your level of work and education experience.

Applicants require a Bachelor degree or equivalent from a relevant science or engineering discipline for entry into the course.
