The Master of Business Administration (Advanced) is an extended version of Curtin’s flagship MBA program that gives you additional industry project experience. It is aimed towards professionals who want to progress to senior management roles.

The course content is applicable to a range of industries. You will learn to devise and apply innovative business strategies that help your organisation to thrive in complex and volatile economic environments.

Core subjects include economics, finance, accounting, strategy, organisational behaviour, policy, international business and marketing. You can specialise in one of the following areas:

You’ll strengthen your research capabilities working on a practical project where you’ll liaise closely with an industry partner to apply key business theories, concepts and techniques to solve a real-world challenge. Putting research theories and methodologies to practice gives you transferable skills in business design, report writing, written communication and critical thinking.

During your studies, you’ll be connected with an industry network support partner to facilitate your business networks in Australia.

Flexible learning

The MBA has flexible study options so you can progress your career while working full-time and balance your studies with other commitments. These flexible study options include:

  • Evening classes, delivered face-to-face in the heart of Perth city
  • Intensive study units: the contact hours for some units can be completed in one week or across two weekends
  • Blended study: a mix of online learning and face-to-face classes
  • Fully online units: an ideal study mode if you live in a different time zone or travel regularly
  • Various start dates: our trimester delivery means you can choose to start your course in January, May or August
  • Study aboard and international study tour options
  • You can gain credit towards your MBA by completing select Executive Education programs, including a one-day or five-day masterclass, or bespoke programs such as Ignition or Switch.

Advanced standing

At Curtin, we understand that everyone’s study journey has been different.

You may have already studied some of the units (subjects) listed in your Curtin course, or you may have work experience that matches the degree requirements.

If this applies to you, you can apply for credit for recognised learning (CRL), which means your previous study is recognised and matched against a similar unit in your intended Curtin course.

A successful CRL application exempts you from having to complete certain units within your course and means you could finish your degree in a shorter amount of time.

CRL is also known as recognition of prior learning, advanced standing and credit transfer.
