Global education

You’ll have access to a range of international study opportunities.

This unit introduces students to the marketing discipline, the marketing environment and the key application of marketing principles. In this unit students work with real clients in a ‘work integrated learning’ environment.

Learning pathway

What you'll learn

  • examine the wider role of marketing within the firm, business and society taking into consideration ethics and corporate social responsibility
  • work independently and in teams to develop solutions to ‘real life’ business marketing situations
  • examine key marketing models and concepts and how these help guide a firm’s business practices
  • investigate current issues in marketing environments and their impact upon employment trends
  • compare and contrast the challenges and opportunities of marketing both locally and internationally utilising a ‘real client’ case study
  • demonstrate academic and professional integrity principles and apply writing, referencing and acknowledgement conventions required for the marketing discipline

Advanced standing

At Curtin, we understand that everyone’s study journey has been different.

You may have already studied some of the units (subjects) listed in your Curtin course at another educational institution, or you may have work experience that matches the degree requirements.

A successful CRL application exempts you from having to complete certain units within your course and means you could finish your degree in a shorter amount of time.

CRL is also known as recognition of prior learning, advanced standing and credit transfer.
