Upskill with a short course

Studying a Curtin edX program is ideal if you are looking to upskill in a particular area. Some courses can even map onto Curtin postgraduate degrees.

edX is a consortium of elite higher education institutions established by Harvard University and MIT.

Free short courses

edX’s massive, open, online courses (MOOCs) are short courses that you can complete on a variety of topics anytime, anywhere.

These courses are free to study, but if you are hoping to reference a MOOC on your resume or CV, you will need to purchase an edX-verified certificate.

If you complete a MOOC on edX through Curtin, you may also be eligible for credit for recognised learning, which can shorten the duration of a Curtin degree.

MOOCs feature in the structure of MicroMasters programs and professional certificate programs.

MicroMasters® programs

Curtin MicroMasters® programs are comprehensive, postgraduate-level university courses for gaining in-depth knowledge of your field and advancing your career at your own pace. Affordable and studied online, you will be able to undertake professional learning, regardless of where you live in the world.

Gain credit towards a master degree

When you successfully complete a MicroMasters® credential at the appropriate level, you can apply for advanced standing towards a Curtin master degree.

Professional certificate programs

Professional certificate programs comprise a series of short courses that teach critical skills. They take two-to-four months to complete and can help you achieve specific career outcomes.
