Engineering

Develop your problem-solving skills and learn to design, construct and test machines, systems, structures, materials and processes. As a Curtin student, you’ll have access to outstanding, purpose-built facilities.

If you study our Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), you can start work as a professional engineering graduate in just four years. You can specialise in chemical, civil and construction, electrical and electronic, industrial and systems, mechanical, mechatronic, mining or petroleum engineering. If you study one of our postgraduate courses, you can add new skills and knowledge to your repertoire.

We are ranked second in the world for mineral and mining engineering, and in the top 100 for civil and structural engineering*.

Curtin’s geophysics course provides students with both a strong theoretical knowledge of geophysical concepts and general understanding of principles, encouraging us to independently grow our own research skills. The geophysical processing laboratories are extremely challenging and useful to further understand concepts and practically apply and investigate processing techniques providing us with relevant processing skills that we can apply to industry projects. Field trips and practical surveys have taught me necessary skills on how to acquire geophysical data as well as process and interpret it.
